We’ll drive through the exciting and Scenic South African landscape, head for the Namibian border, and hope to cross the Orange River on the first day – here we’ll enjoy camp fires, Braais (BBQ) and a few beers/wines (non-drinkers are welcome too) at one of the camps – then do some canoeing/rafting in the morning.

We’ll leave the Orange River and head to the Fish River Canyon, find a place to spend the night and then some activities in the canyon.

Leave the canyon and head towards the Namib Desert…google and find out more! We’ll probably stay at Hammerstein Lodge – great place, awesome atmosphere. If we have space for a board or two in the cars, we can go dune-surfing.

Capital of Namibia – we get in, and get out. No disrespect, but the only reason to stop over here is this place.

Depending on the beer intake at Joe’s Beer House, we’ll try to get going at a decent hour, long day’s drive to Maun.

We’ll spend the night in the spectacular Chobe national park

We’ve reached one of the 7 wonders of the world – where we’ve got some activities lined up:

  • Bungee jump (optional extra):
111 metres from the classic Victoria Falls Bridge down towards the Zambezi River.
  • Eat Crocodile Ribs at Café Zambezi:
You won’t regret it, unless you’re vegetarian (hey, don’t worry – they have great veggie options too). (Included)
  • Go an an evening sunset booze & safari cruise:
See elephants, crocodiles, and various other creatures – it’s difficult to beat an evening on the Zambezi.
  • River rafting down the Zambezi (Optional extra)
if you’re up for it! An amazing experience, one of the best rafting available in the world. (Included)
  • A number of the many other activities to get into
    in Vic Falls and Livingstone

From here we’ll see – you might want to fly out of Livingstone and back home, or perhaps you will be able to hitch a cheap ride back in our vehicles down to Johannesburg and/or Cape Town – not set in stone yet.

This is a different kind adventure, you won’t find this at a travel agency. You will take part in driving the expedition vehicles (if you want) and being an active participant in the expedition team. We aim to put together a small group of about 8-10 people, in two or three 4×4 vehicles.

Minimum number of travellers for the tour to happen: 6.

Dates: 1 – 12 August 2022

COST: $1490 pp.

Includes a seat on this adventure – from Cape Town to Vic Falls.

Costs for meals, drinks, activities and accommodation we will split among the group. Accommodation will be a combination of permanent tents and bungalows – pretty comfortable but nothing fancy. If you’re a fussy traveller, this is not for you! Count approximately another $75 per day, depending on activities you want to do.

Age: 22 – 50 (– ish)

Fitness level: You don’t have to be an athlete, but you should have medium level fitness and enjoy physical activity
Character: adventurous, fun-loving and non-complaining

Note:
This is not a traditional commercial travel booking, I am not your guide – I’m your travel companion, we all pitch in to make this adventure an experience of a lifetime. I do have a great deal of experience organising trips in Africa. This is an experiment, that may turn into something more.
